Sejong National Leadership Committee Holds the 17th Sejong National Leadership Forum

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] The Sejong National Leadership Committee under the Economic and Humanities Social Research Council announced on the 18th that it will hold the 17th Sejong National Leadership Forum on the 19th at the Government Sejong Convention Center, under the theme "The Dignity of Society and Public Leadership."

This forum was organized to discuss social values and public leadership that create a dignified society, with a lecture by Professor Jaeyeol Lee from the Department of Sociology at Seoul National University.

Sung Kyung-ryung, Chairman of the Economic and Humanities Social Research Council, stated, "Although our country has entered the era of a per capita national income of 30,000 dollars, the perceived middle class who consider themselves middle class is decreasing," adding, "The current reality is that we are caught in the so-called paradox of affluence, where material wealth does not lead to happiness."

He continued, "To solve these social challenges and create a more prosperous society, we need to pay attention to the creation of social values," and mentioned, "By overcoming distrust and increasing trust through the values created, we can raise the dignity of our society."

Furthermore, he added, "Only when social values properly serve as an axis of innovation for the times can we finally move toward an innovative inclusive nation."
