Employee Participation on the Morning of the 20th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Yoseop] The Busan Coast Guard is participating in a blood donation campaign to alleviate the 'blood supply shortage' caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Busan Coast Guard announced on the 18th that it will conduct a 'Love Blood Donation' for its employees on the 20th.
According to the Korean Red Cross, since the first confirmed COVID-19 case on the 20th of last month, participation in blood donation has sharply declined, with the number of individual donors decreasing by more than 20,000 compared to the same period last year. As of the 2nd, 145 organizations that had scheduled blood donations have canceled, causing significant difficulties in blood supply.
The Busan Coast Guard, in cooperation with the Korean Red Cross, plans to conduct personal hygiene checks and disinfection at the blood donation bus in Busanseo starting at 10 a.m. on the 20th, followed by blood donation participation by employees.
Lee Gwangjin, Chief of the Busan Coast Guard, said, “We hope this blood donation participation will help alleviate the blood supply shortage,” and added, “We will continue to actively participate in campaigns to recover from COVID-19 damage.”
