[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Shin-won] Lee Jae-jung, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, recently asked former Dongyang University professor Jin Jung-kwon, who has been criticizing the Democratic Party, to "please look at us more kindly," to which Jin responded by calling it "disgusting."

On the 18th, Lee appeared on YTN Radio's 'No Young-hee's Start of a New Morning' and, when asked about Jin, said, "I don't know if it's because of his deep affection for the Democratic Party, but he seems to have become harsher recently," adding, "I hope he could show a little more affection and that there might be things we can do together to improve, so please look at us more kindly."

He continued, "Being at the center of controversy might be because the speaker has gotten louder, but there are also reasons why it stands out," adding, "If Professor Jin is not only conscious of that point, I think we can calmly work together to bring our progressive issues to social debate. Please give us a little leeway."

In response, former professor Jin shared the related article on his Facebook, saying, "Congressman, this is disgusting. I burst out laughing," and added, "I clearly witnessed seven of this person's brothers coming to the school to bury someone, so how can you ask me to look kindly at our family?"

On the same day, Lee also spoke about the 'Im Mi-ri accusation case.' He said, "There were shortcomings in various checks," and added, "The Public Relations Office's expression of regret was made seriously, and we will sincerely demonstrate this seriousness by practically expanding freedom of expression to the public through the National Assembly."

Regarding criticism that they are "catering to the extreme supporters," he explained, "Both the 'home rabbits' and 'mountain rabbits' are important in an election phase," adding, "It is especially the ruling party's election strategy that cannot focus only on supporters. Following only the center while being cautious makes it difficult to win elections without the cohesion of the home rabbits. The party does not exist solely for supporters."
