[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] On the 18th, former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon commented on lawyer Kim Nam-guk's declaration to run in Seoul Gangseo-gap, the constituency of Geum Tae-seop, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying that Kim's statement "I will sincerely devote myself" was "not a message to do well but a message to step down."

On the same day, Jin posted on his Facebook, saying, "People who intend to deceive the public should never run for public office."

Jin added, "I understand that you actively participated in Cho Kuk's national deception," and said, "The public must look like fools to be deceived by such a scam."

He continued, "It's good to have lofty dreams, but starting a political career by deceiving the public is problematic," and asked, "Are you trying to receive a secret nomination as a substitute for the unrepentant attempted kiss offender who staged that scam, representing the fascist pursuit crowd that causes trouble here and there?"

He then criticized, "From now on, value yourself. You will be the fuse for the Democratic Party's self-destruction."

Regarding Kim's candidacy in Gangseo-gap the previous day, Jin criticized, "They intend to turn this election entirely into Cho Kuk's election," and said, "If newcomers get additional points and Moonba (a derogatory term for ardent supporters of President Moon) join in, it will be quite a spectacle."

Earlier, Kim posted on his Facebook, saying, "With the heart to solve livelihood issues for a society where people can live a little harder, and the determination to practice more humble and low-profile politics, I am sincere," and added, "I will devote myself more humbly and sincerely so that a few years later, Professor Jin Joong-kwon can say, 'Ah, I misunderstood Nam-guk back then.'"

Kim also participated as a writer in the 'Cho Kuk White Paper Promotion Committee,' which was launched to document the prosecution and media's behavior from the appointment to the resignation of the former Minister of Justice.
