Cargill Agri Purina Launches Livestock Distribution Service 'Hanieum'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Cargill Agri Purina announced on the 18th that it will launch ‘Hanieum,’ a livestock distribution service that adds value through expertise. With this launch, ‘Hanieum’ aims to promote the co-growth of the domestic livestock industry by helping livestock farms stabilize their shipments and supplying high-quality livestock products to meat processing companies.

Cargill Agri Purina stated that it plans to grow Hanieum into a service handling 1.2 million heads annually by 2025. To this end, it established a strategic distribution division last year and has been distributing 30,000 live pigs per month since July.

Through ‘Hanieum,’ Cargill Agri Purina supports the stable shipment of livestock products from customer farms by applying high-quality feed and advanced feeding management. This allows livestock farms to focus on production, while meat processing companies receive a stable supply of high-quality livestock products. The newly unveiled Hanieum logo expresses the expertise in production, distribution, and animal nutrition handled by farms, meat processors, and Cargill respectively, using red, green, and yellow colors, symbolizing the commitment of each sector to cooperate for the development of domestic livestock products.

Based on over 50 years of know-how, Cargill Agri Purina supports the production of high-quality Korean pork by livestock farms using its own Pork Quality Management program (PQM) and Source Pig Quality analysis program (SPC). Additionally, it plans to provide full company-wide support for quality differentiation of meat processing companies through Hanieum Members certification.

Park Yong-soon, CEO of Cargill Agri Purina, said, “‘Hanieum’ is the fruit of efforts to create a sustainable total farm solution by Cargill Agri Purina, which has grown alongside Korean livestock,” adding, “We will continue to share Cargill’s core competencies with customers and distribution partners and strive for mutual growth.”

Meanwhile, Cargill Agri Purina announced ‘Vision 2025’ in 2017 and is working toward a sales target of 2.7 million tons by 2025.
