[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced on the 18th that it has closed physical model houses and opened a cyber model house based on cloud CDN together with Daewoo E&C to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Cloud CDN is a technology that distributes traffic to deliver large-capacity content such as movies, broadcasts, and games via the optimal route. Since 2006, KT has been providing cloud CDN services to gaming, media, entertainment, and online lecture institutions. The cyber model house allows users to select the desired housing type and experience the interior of the house, filmed in 3D, in a 360-degree immersive view. A high-capacity service environment is essential.
KT and Daewoo E&C applied KT cloud CDN in preparation for a large number of simultaneous users accessing this cyber model house due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19. By using KT cloud CDN, large-capacity data of up to 2GB can be instantly serviced with a bandwidth of 10Gbps, enabling uninterrupted 3D service even when many users access simultaneously.
Park Jung-joon, Head of KT Enterprise Customer Division, said, “KT, together with Daewoo E&C, has built a cyber model house based on KT cloud CDN instead of physical model houses, which pose a high risk of group infection of COVID-19. We made it so that many people can simultaneously access and experience fast, seamless service as close to reality as possible.”
Jo In-hwan, Head of Human Resources Management Support Division at Daewoo E&C, said, “Maegyo Station Prugio SK VIEW offers only a cyber model house, so service stability had to be prioritized. Considering it is a popular area, we aimed for differentiated service by providing optimal IT infrastructure such as cloud services.”
