[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Singer Lee Eun-ha (59) opened up about her past experience with 'Cushing's syndrome.'


On the 18th, singer Lee Eun-ha appeared on KBS1's 'Morning Yard' in the 'Tuesday Invitation' segment and said, "I can say that (Cushing's syndrome) is completely cured now."


Lee Eun-ha said, "I endured without surgery as Cushing's syndrome and a herniated disc caused stenosis, but after turning 50, menopause came," adding, "The hormone balance was disrupted, causing side effects."


She continued, "However, rather than (Cushing's syndrome), side effects from pain medication occurred. Although I didn't have surgery and recovered, I gained a lot of weight," and added, "The war with weight remains."


She said, "Now that I am healthy, many people around me share ways to lose weight."


Last December, Lee Eun-ha revealed, "I was prescribed steroids and developed Cushing's syndrome, which caused rapid weight gain."


Cushing's syndrome is a rare disease caused by taking corticosteroids to treat conditions such as asthma and arthritis, excessive secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone, or excessive secretion of the hormone 'cortisol.'


Born in 1961, Lee Eun-ha is 59 years old this year. She debuted in 1973 with the debut song 'Nimmajung.' After being selected as a top teenage singer in 1977, she was ranked as a top teenage singer for nine consecutive years and was active as a representative singer of the 1980s.
