The Online Service Most Purchased by People in Their 20s and 30s: Naver

20s: 4.6 Trillion Won... 30s: 7 Trillion Won in Payments

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver was revealed to be the online service most frequently paid for by Koreans in their 20s and 30s last year.

App and retail analysis services WiseApp and WiseRetail announced on the 18th the estimated payment amounts by generation for online services most paid for by Koreans last year.

For those in their 20s, the online service with the highest payment amount was Naver (4.6 trillion KRW), followed by Coupang (2.3 trillion KRW), Baedal Minjok (2 trillion KRW), and eBay Korea (1.8 trillion KRW).

For those in their 30s, the order of highest payment amounts was Naver (7 trillion KRW), eBay Korea (4.6 trillion KRW), Coupang (4.6 trillion KRW), and 11st (2.8 trillion KRW).

For those in their 40s, eBay Korea (5 trillion KRW), Naver (4.3 trillion KRW), Coupang (3.9 trillion KRW), and 11st (2.4 trillion KRW) were the top services paid for.

For those aged 50 and above, eBay Korea (5.6 trillion KRW), Coupang (4.4 trillion KRW), Naver (3.6 trillion KRW), and GS Home Shopping·GS Shop (2.5 trillion KRW) were the most paid for.

The payment amount for Naver refers to payments made by consumers through Naver Pay, Smart Store, Naver search ads, and content, excluding shopping intermediary transactions via Naver search.

Meanwhile, this survey estimated the amounts paid on internet services. The payment amounts were estimated based on consumer payment records of Koreans aged 20 and above who paid using credit cards, debit cards, account transfers, and mobile micropayments for the respective services. Payments made via corporate cards, corporate account transfers, business-to-business transactions, cash transactions, and gift certificates were not included.
