Dongdaemun-gu, Thorough Management from Move-in Registration to Welfare Blind Spots

District to Include Welfare Comprehensive Service Consultation Requirement in Move-in Report from February... Providing Systematic and Active Welfare Service Information to New Residents, Strengthening On-site Consultation

Dongdaemun-gu, Thorough Management from Move-in Registration to Welfare Blind Spots

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) is systematically and actively managing residents who report moving in, aiming to build a more comprehensive welfare service network and eliminate welfare blind spots.

Since February, the district has been distributing moving-in report forms with an added notice saying, "Dongdaemun-gu provides comprehensive welfare services. Do you agree to the consultation?" to residents visiting the local community service centers to report their move-in.

Additionally, the same item has been added to the online moving-in report page on Minwon24 for residents reporting their move-in via the internet.

If residents agree to this item, they are connected with welfare planners who provide on-site consultations, phone consultations, or home visits, and offer information on various welfare services such as emergency support and the National Basic Livelihood Security Program.

Along with visits to families with newborns and activities to identify households in crisis by the local welfare planners, the district conducts consultations targeting new residents who are vulnerable to lacking information about local welfare services, identifying potential crisis situations and addressing family crises early.

You Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, "To play the role of a warm social partner, the district will minimize the burden on residents moving in to adapt to their new environment and strengthen the delivery system to ensure they are not excluded from various welfare services."
