Seongnam City Supports 29.4 Billion KRW for 86 'Educational Projects' in Elementary, Middle, and High Schools Seongnam City Hall


[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will support 29.4 billion KRW for 86 educational projects implemented by elementary, middle, and high schools in the region this year.


On the 18th, Seongnam City announced that it decided to provide educational expenses after conducting on-site investigations, feasibility reviews, and deliberations on the necessary projects requested by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education and Seongnam Education Support Office for each school.


The scale of support projects by sector includes ▲ 56 projects for improving the educational environment such as school exterior wall replacement construction (8.4 billion KRW) ▲ 6 Seongnam-type education projects such as Colorful School Innovation (8.4 billion KRW) ▲ 13 projects supporting the curriculum such as uniforms for new middle and high school students (6.5 billion KRW) ▲ and construction of indoor gymnasiums at 11 schools (6.1 billion KRW).


Among these, the construction of indoor gymnasiums is an educational expense support project to protect students from harmful external environments such as fine dust. The supported schools include Baekhyeon Middle School, Gumi Elementary School, Bundang Elementary School, Seongnam Jeongja Elementary School, Jungtap Elementary School, Seongnam Sinhung Elementary School, Daewon Elementary School, Daeil Elementary School, and Seongnam Dong Elementary School.


A city official emphasized, "We allocated educational expense subsidies for all projects subject to support review in order not to neglect investment for the future," and added, "We will continue to listen to the voices from school sites and create conditions for students to focus more on their studies."
