For Small Facilities Like Daycare Centers and Senior Centers, Portable Disinfection Devices Available for Free Rental at Community Centers... 65 Disinfection Devices Urgently Purchased, Available for Rent at Health Centers and 14 District Community Centers
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is providing free rental of portable eco-friendly disinfection devices at neighborhood community centers to enable eco-friendly disinfection at facilities such as daycare centers and senior citizen centers to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Until now, the district has lent disinfection devices through the public health center to prevent infectious diseases in the community. However, due to the prolonged spread of COVID-19 and the increase in confirmed cases domestically and internationally, the demand for disinfection within the district has risen. Therefore, 65 eco-friendly disinfection devices were urgently purchased, and rental services have been expanded to 14 neighborhood community centers.
The portable disinfection devices available for rent are ultra-fine particle disinfectors that are easy to carry and use, capable of disinfecting both the interior of facilities and items.
Additionally, eco-friendly disinfectants made from natural substances containing no chemicals and harmless to the human body are provided together.
Small-scale facilities requiring disinfection equipment, such as daycare centers, kindergartens, academies, welfare facilities, and senior citizen centers, can apply at neighborhood community centers or the public health center (2091-4482) and pick up the devices in person.
The rental period is within one day, and devices can be rented as needed. Disinfection equipment is lent after providing instructions on the use of disinfectants and safety management precautions.
The district plans to continue the eco-friendly disinfection equipment rental service until the end of this year to prevent not only the spread of COVID-19 but also infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and pneumonia.
Furthermore, the district supports one portable disinfection device each to nine large-scale facilities, including comprehensive social welfare centers, which are heavily used by residents. These facilities regularly disinfect their interiors to protect the health of local residents.
In addition, the district has established an emergency disinfection work system and is conducting continuous disinfection at subway stations, public facilities (community centers, district office, public health center, etc.), 14 neighborhood community centers, and eight resident community spaces.
Mayor Dongjin Lee stated, “We are implementing continuous and systematic disinfection activities to protect residents with weak immune systems such as infants, children, and the elderly. COVID-19 is certainly an infectious disease that requires our caution and vigilance, but there is no need to be excessively fearful. Let us thoroughly practice personal hygiene such as wearing masks, washing hands, and proper coughing etiquette, actively utilize the disinfection equipment rental service, and overcome this difficulty together.”
