Jungnang-gu Provides 200,000 KRW Subsidy for Installing or Replacing Eco-Friendly Boilers

Vulnerable Groups Receive 500,000 Won... Annual Fuel Cost Savings of 130,000 Won Due to Improved Energy Efficiency

Jungnang-gu Provides 200,000 KRW Subsidy for Installing or Replacing Eco-Friendly Boilers

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) will provide a subsidy of 200,000 KRW for the installation or replacement of home-use low-NOx boilers (hereinafter eco-friendly boilers), which are effective in reducing fine dust.

Vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income households can receive a subsidy of 500,000 KRW.

In addition, subsidies will be provided to commercial facilities such as officetels, dormitories, and study rooms that were previously ineligible for support.

While general home-use boilers emit 173 ppm of nitrogen oxides, a major cause of ultrafine dust (PM-2.5), eco-friendly boilers emit less than 20 ppm, only one-eighth, making them very effective in reducing fine dust.

Also, eco-friendly boilers have a thermal efficiency of over 92%, higher than general boilers (80%), saving about 130,000 KRW annually in heating costs.

This year, the subsidy budget is approximately 760 million KRW, supporting 3,800 units on a first-come, first-served basis. After completing the purchase contract for an eco-friendly boiler, applicants or suppliers (dealers, etc.) can visit or mail the required documents to the Clean Environment Division of Jungnang-gu Office.

The support project period is until December 18, and it may close early if the quota is exhausted.

Selection is on a first-come, first-served basis, but if applications are received on the same date, priority will be given in the following order: △ vulnerable groups △ those replacing old individual heating boilers △ those switching from central heating to individual heating △ newly built houses (detached houses, under 30 households, 30 households or more).

Suppliers must install the eco-friendly boiler within 30 days from the subsidy payment decision notification date and submit the installation confirmation to the district office. After reviewing the installation confirmation and meeting the payment requirements, the subsidy will be paid within 30 days.

Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “We hope many people take this opportunity to install eco-friendly boilers, reduce household fuel costs, and contribute to improving air quality.”
