Afternoon of the 17th: Signing of the 'Startup Support Center Private Consignment Business Agreement'

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) signed a 'Private Consignment Agreement for the Startup Support Center' with the University of Seoul at 2 p.m. on the 17th.
The agreement ceremony, promoted to revitalize local startups through more professional operation of the Startup Support Center, was held with the attendance of Choi Hong-yeon, Deputy Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, Kim Sang-soon, Professor of the Department of Business Administration at the University of Seoul, and other officials.
Based on this agreement, the University of Seoul will promote various programs to revitalize local startups, including △supporting startups and strengthening entrepreneurial capabilities of resident companies at the Startup Support Center △building a startup network linking local universities, companies, and public institutions △operating a makerspace and an integrated startup support platform (online) △discovering and supporting businesses specialized in Dongdaemun-gu such as fashion sewing and traditional Korean medicine.
The consignment period is two years, from February this year to February 2022.
Choi Hong-yeon, Deputy Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “I hope the Startup Support Center will play a significant role in solidifying our district’s startup ecosystem,” and added, “We will continue to actively support Dongdaemun-gu to become a better place for startups.”
