[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] The labor unions of three companies under Hanjin Group?Korean Air, Hanjin Co., Ltd., and Korea Airports Corporation?stated on the 17th regarding the group's management rights dispute, "Former CEO Cho Hyun-ah of Wangsang Leisure Development should abandon her vindictiveness and greed that are driving workers onto the streets and exercise restraint."

The three unions issued a joint statement on the same day, saying, "We absolutely cannot tolerate the plan by the private equity fund (PEF) KCGI, which is obsessed with enriching the wealthy, to split the group publicly."

In the statement released under the names of the union chairpersons of each company, the three unions criticized, "Former CEO Cho oppressed workers with an arrogant attitude, and as a result, Hanjin Group has become a laughingstock worldwide," adding, "With what sense of shame does she covet the group?"

They continued, "Bando Construction should uphold business ethics and focus on its core business," warning, "If it pursues petty schemes fit for back-alley ruffians and suffers great losses from small gains, it will bear the stigma of a malicious company and face the resistance of the entire group."

They also emphasized, "The unions affiliated with the group will unite and will not stand by as the so-called 'Cho Hyun-ah three-party alliance' engages in bizarre acts to fill the pockets of the wealthy, sucking the lifeblood and squeezing the suffering of Hanjin workers."
