Fire After Vehicle Collision on Cheongju Overpass...2 Injured

On the morning of the 17th, a vehicle fire occurred on the Gaesin overpass in Seowon-gu, Cheongju-si.

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] At around 11:05 a.m. on the 17th, a collision occurred between a passenger car driven by Mr. A (55) and an SUV driven by Mr. B (55) on the Gaesin Overpass Road in Seowon-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungbuk.

Both Mr. A and Mr. B were injured in the accident and were transported to a nearby hospital.

The fire that started in the passenger car immediately after the collision was extinguished by the fire authorities in about 30 minutes.

Due to the firefighting efforts and the aftermath of the accident, both directions of the Gaesin Overpass Road were reportedly closed for about an hour.

The police are investigating the exact cause, suspecting that one of the two vehicles crossed the center line, leading to the accident.
