[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] NH Investment & Securities has reorganized its investment banking (IB) division to strengthen expertise.
On the 17th, NH Investment & Securities announced that it changed the name of the division within the existing IB2 Division, which handles real assets and real estate sectors, to enhance specialization and increase investment stability.
In this reorganization, the names were changed to clearly express the main tasks and identities of each headquarters. The Structured Finance Headquarters was renamed the Real Asset Investment Headquarters, and under it, a system of Real Asset Investment Team 1, 2, and 3 was established. As the name suggests, the Real Asset Investment Headquarters is responsible for investments related to income-generating real estate such as offices and hotels.
The Real Estate Finance Headquarters retains its current name and departmental organization while exclusively handling real estate project financing (PF) tasks. The Project Finance Headquarters also keeps its existing name but organized its subordinate departments into the Project Finance Team, Infrastructure Investment Team 1, and Infrastructure Investment Team 2.
To enhance expertise in sourcing overseas assets and alternative investment deals, the IB2 Division established the Hong Kong IB 2 Desk. The Hong Kong IB Desk within the IB1 Division was renamed the Hong Kong IB 1 Desk and is responsible for overseas corporate finance and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
An NH Investment & Securities official explained, "The core of the IB division reorganization is to strengthen expertise by headquarters," adding, "We carried out the reorganization to reinforce our position in the real asset and real estate sectors as well."
