[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 17th, Kang Hoon-sik, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, targeted the United Future Party, saying, "Everyone except former President Park Geun-hye has come together."
On the same day, Kang appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said, "When you look at why they gathered in this party, they should talk about common values and a vision for innovation, but I don't really know about that," adding, "From an outsider's perspective, it can only be seen as 'they just got back together again.'"
Additionally, Kang commented on the conservative unification atmosphere, saying, "The public does not have expectations for innovation," and "They said they would do a lot of reshuffling themselves. However, at the initial stage of unification, there were civic groups involved, but they dropped out at the end."
He continued, "The New Conservative Party opposed the former Future Korea Party. But that voice disappeared. All voices valuing innovation were removed," and said, "The civic groups said, 'We cannot work together,' so they left."
