On the morning of the 17th, blood donation held at Cheongwadae Yeonmugwan Indoor Gymnasium... Blood pressure check, anemia test conducted
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] "Due to concerns about the novel coronavirus infection, the number of blood donors has decreased, leading to a shortage of blood. Active participation in blood donation from the public is needed." On the morning of the 17th, a placard urging voluntary efforts to resolve the blood shortage was displayed at the indoor gymnasium of the Yeonmugwan building at the Blue House.
As concerns about the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) grew, raising fears of a blood shortage, Blue House staff took action. To support the blood donation campaign, the Blue House organized this event on the 17th. Officials from the Korean Red Cross Eastern Blood Center assisted with the blood donation process while wearing vests and masks.
Donors participated in electronic questionnaires via tablets on site. The questionnaire included questions about current medications and overseas travel history. Nurses checked blood pressure, conducted anemia tests, and confirmed medication use before proceeding with the blood donation.
The entire blood donation process, including waiting, questionnaire, blood collection, and rest, took about 25 minutes.
