According to the police, at around 9 a.m. on the 17th, Mr. A (in his 40s) was brought to the emergency room of Busan Medical Center in Yeonje-gu, Busan. Mr. A complained of difficulty breathing and chest pain, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed, but he was reported to have died.
It was confirmed that Mr. A had traveled to Vietnam and returned on the same day. The hospital temporarily closed the emergency room at 9:45 a.m. and is investigating whether Mr. A was infected with COVID-19.
A police official stated, "The deceased complained of difficulty breathing and chest pain, but did not show symptoms such as fever." The results of Mr. A's COVID-19 test are expected to be released around 3 p.m. on the same day.
