The blood donation took place in a Red Cross blood donation vehicle set up in front of the Dongbu Fire Station garage, with more than 20 fire officials and volunteer firefighters participating.
This initiative was promoted to contribute to securing emergency blood supplies and resolving supply shortages due to the sharp decline in blood donation activities caused by COVID-19.
Yang Younggyu, Chief of Dongbu Fire Station, said, "I hope this blood donation participation will help alleviate the blood supply shortage caused by COVID-19," and added, "We will continue to take the lead in activities to prevent damage caused by COVID-19."
Meanwhile, since 2006, Dongbu Fire Station has been continuously operating the "Life Sharing Fire Blood Insurance," which supports blood donation certificates to underprivileged neighbors through regular blood donations by employees and voluntary donation of blood donation certificates.
So far, 640 certificates have been collected, and 76 certificates have been provided to 9 people, practicing love and sharing of life.
