[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Singer Lee Ja-yeon revealed an anecdote related to her hit song 'Challang Challang'.
On the 17th, singers Jin Sung, Park Sang-chul, Lee Ja-yeon, Lim Do-hyung, and composers Jung Kyung-cheon, Lee Ho-seop, and Park Sung-hoon appeared on KBS's 'Morning Yard' segment
During the broadcast, composer Lee Ho-seop appeared as Lee Ja-yeon's partner and shared the story of how the two became connected.
Composer Lee introduced Lee Ja-yeon, saying, "Lee Ja-yeon is currently the president of the Korea Singers Association. She was active in Japan and then returned to Korea."
He then praised her, saying, "I listened to Lee Ja-yeon's songs. Our country's trot singers are good at expressing elegant and beautiful melodies, but they are somewhat clumsy at expressing rhythm. However, Lee Ja-yeon is very good at rhythm expression."
Lee Ja-yeon said, "I met her under the wing of teacher Na Hoon-a. One day, I went to composer Lee Ho-seop's house asking if we could have a meal together, and I heard 'Challang Challang.' The melody was very good, but I didn't like the lyrics, so I asked to have just the song as a wedding gift."
Composer Lee Ho-seop said, "At that time, there were two singers who frequently barged into my house. One was Seol Woon-do, and the other was Lee Ja-yeon. Seol Woon-do's 'Da Hamkke Cha Cha Cha' was also a song he took from my house at 2 a.m.," causing laughter.
He added, "'Challang Challang' was given as a wedding gift to Lee Ja-yeon. The groom was someone I had always regarded as an older brother."
