[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Jeong Byeong-guk, a member of the New Conservative Party, stated that Yoo Seung-min, the chairman of the Conservative Reconstruction Committee who declared he would not run, will play a role in the victory of the United Future Party in the general election.

On the 17th, on BBS Radio's 'Lee Sang-hwi's Morning Journal' broadcast, Representative Jeong said, "I believe Chairman Yoo will play a significant role in our United Future Party's victory in this general election."

Regarding reports that Chairman Yoo is unlikely to attend the United Future Party merger ceremony held that afternoon, he responded, "Nothing has been confirmed yet. It seems that he has thrown himself into everything and, after declaring he would not run, has gone down to his local area. It seems that communication has been difficult, but we have not yet heard from him whether he will attend or not."

On the failed meeting with Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Liberty Korea Party, he explained, "Looking at the process, it seems that some conversations between them did not go well," adding, "In the end, Chairman Yoo may feel that he has done everything he needed to do, and that meeting to talk about this or that might feel unnecessary."

Regarding the integration of three youth parties including Brand New Party on the 16th, he said, "Conservative parties, especially the Korea Party or Saenuri Party, have made many efforts, but young people did not open their hearts and were even afraid to say they were conservative. That was the ecosystem until now. Now, the results of our efforts are newly revealed through this integration," explaining, "'Young people are now opening the doors of their hearts,' and this is an effect after the birth of the United Future Party."

On the possibility of an electoral alliance with the new party led by former Bareunmirae Party member Ahn Cheol-soo, he expressed the position that 'we should work together.' Previously, Ahn had drawn a line on the electoral alliance, calling it a 'rude question.' Representative Jeong said, "Ahn claims to practice centrist politics, and many of those who advocate centrist politics, especially Ahn and those who have worked with him, are with us," adding, "The United Future Party is not perfect, but if there is no clear difference in direction, we should work together; otherwise, it is just personal ambition."
