[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Actress Kim Bu-seon sent a love call to director Bong Joon-ho of the film Parasite, which won four Academy Awards.
On the 15th, Kim Bu-seon posted a message on her Facebook congratulating director Bong Joon-ho on his Academy Award win.
Kim Bu-seon said, "My top 3 favorite Korean films are Joint Security Area (JSA), Memories of Murder, and Lady Vengeance," adding, "I'm conflicted about the ranking after watching Parasite."
She continued, "Congratulations sincerely to director Bong Joon-ho. You really worked hard," and said, "I spent several days watching foreign news articles and videos, shouting, laughing, and crying as if it were my own achievement. Thanks to the director, I have been happy for days," leaving a congratulatory message.
She then sent a love call, saying, "How about Kim Bu-seon for your next project, a bizarre horror film set in the city? Please consider it. I won't cause any trouble."
Meanwhile, the film Parasite won four awards including Best Original Screenplay, Best International Feature Film, Best Director, and Best Picture at the 92nd Academy Awards held on the 9th (local time) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, USA.
At the ceremony's interview room, director Bong attracted attention by mentioning, "I am preparing a Korean-language horror film set in Seoul and an English-language film set in London."
