[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 16th, Shin Chang-hyun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced that he has requested a reconsideration of the designation of his electoral district, Uiwang-Gwacheon in Gyeonggi Province, as a strategic nomination district for the April 15 general election.
Rep. Shin stated, "The Democratic Party's Nomination Management Committee selected Uiwang-Gwacheon as a strategic nomination district," and added, "It is a decision that is difficult to accept, so I have requested the Supreme Council to reconsider it."
He said, "Even if the reconsideration result does not change, I will accept the party's decision," and "I will not forget the support and kindness I have received so far."
