[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 16th that one additional domestic case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been confirmed. This is the 29th patient in the country.

The patient is a Korean male born in 1938, who stated during the initial investigation after confirmation that he had no history of overseas travel. He is the oldest among the patients confirmed so far in Korea. After visiting Korea University Anam Hospital and testing positive, he was subsequently isolated at Seoul National University Hospital, which has a nationally designated inpatient treatment bed. The specific movement path and contact status are currently under investigation.

This is the first domestic COVID-19 patient confirmed in five days since the 28th patient on the 10th. Nine patients have recovered and been discharged so far, unchanged from the previous day. Approximately 7,900 people have been tested to date, with 7,313 testing negative and released from isolation, while the remaining 577 are still undergoing testing.
