JTBC reported on the 14th that four researchers from South Korea's Central Clinical Task Force (TF) attended the 'COVID-19' research forum held over two days from the 11th to the 12th (local time) at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to the media, when the WHO previously requested data on how the virus spread in South Korea and the information collected during the treatment of confirmed patients, the researchers traveled directly to Geneva to provide explanations.
Well-organized patient-related information is essential to uncover the nature of new infectious diseases. However, China, which has the highest number of patients, has faced criticism from some quarters regarding the accuracy of its patient statistics.
In this regard, Jung Eun-kyung, Director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also stated on the 13th that "China's statistical information is somewhat limited."
On the other hand, South Korea is evaluated to have conducted detailed investigations into where patients had contact with whom and has kept thorough records of patient conditions from the early stages of the outbreak.
