[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters announced on the 15th at 9 a.m. that no additional cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have occurred domestically, maintaining the cumulative number of confirmed cases at 28. This is the result of adding the situation from 4 p.m. on the 14th to overnight.


Since the 28th patient (female, born in 1989, Chinese nationality) was confirmed on the 10th, no additional cases have occurred for five consecutive days. The number of patients discharged after recovery remains at seven among the existing confirmed cases. Patients numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 11, and 17 have been declared fully recovered and discharged from the hospital. The number of discharged patients has not increased since the last three patients (numbers 3, 8, and 17) were discharged at 3 p.m. on the 12th.


As of this morning, the number of suspected cases with symptoms such as fever and cough who have traveled to COVID-19 outbreak countries including China stands at 7,491, an increase of 277 from 7,214 as of yesterday afternoon. Among them, 6,853 have tested negative, and 638 are still undergoing testing.


The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters releases the status of domestic COVID-19 patients twice daily at 10 a.m. (based on 9 a.m.) and 5 p.m. (based on 4 p.m.).
