About 10 Famous Movie Actors and Children of Chaebols Suspected of Habitual Propofol Use

On the 13th, SBS 'News 8' reported that among the approximately 10 people under investigation for propofol use, there are a famous male film actor, a chaebol heir, the head of an entertainment agency, and a well-known fashion designer.

According to the report, they are suspected of habitually using propofol for non-medical purposes at a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, for several years.

Earlier, the prosecution conducted a search and seizure at the clinic at the end of last year and arrested the clinic director and one staff member after the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety requested an investigation, stating that "the clinic's propofol usage is excessively high, raising suspicion of illegal administration."

During this process, evidence of illegal use by famous individuals was uncovered.

According to nurses' statements, some of the people who received propofol were recorded under false names rather than their real names in medical records. The prosecution believes that propofol was administered under the names of family members or acquaintances to conceal the illegal use.

The prosecution recently summoned Mr. C, the head of an entertainment agency, for questioning and plans to decide whether to summon the other individuals as well.
