Launch of IoT Device 'Petdoc Scanner' for Health Information Monitoring
Advancing Total Care Services by Veterinarians
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Jeong-su] Petdoc, an integrated platform for pets created by veterinarians, announced on the 13th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Padma, a telecommunications equipment distribution company. This is to promote the distribution of the pet home care device 'Petdoc Scanner'.
Petdoc is a pet-specialized company that owns an application (app) providing free consultation services by veterinarians. Led by CEO Choi Seung-yong, Petdoc is the core, with veterinarians participating together to develop businesses such as pet products and total care centers for pets.
Padma distributes mobile devices through agreements with the three major domestic mobile carriers, as well as various consumer goods and health functional foods. Petdoc explained, "Taking this MOU as an opportunity, we plan to cooperate to advance pet care services by launching combined products of the 'Petdoc Scanner,' scheduled for release in February, with smartphones, tablet PCs, and other mobile devices."
The 'Petdoc Scanner' is an Internet of Things (IoT) device that can simultaneously record internal information and environmental data of pets using a scanner and multiple modules. It can be used in conjunction with the Petdoc app. Through the scanner, the condition of the pet's ears, nose, and mouth can be checked, and by replacing the modules, internal moisture levels and surrounding temperature and humidity can also be monitored.
A Petdoc representative stated, "The data recorded through the scanner is used as reference material during consultations with veterinarians via the Petdoc app," adding, "Utilizing this allows for faster and more accurate consultations regarding the health of pets."
