The 11th Criminal Division of Ulsan District Court (Presiding Judge Park Jooyoung) announced on the 13th that A (75), who was indicted on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, etc. (rape and injury) and injury, was sentenced to 8 years in prison.

Additionally, the court ordered A to have his personal information disclosed for 5 years, a 5-year employment restriction at child and youth-related institutions, and to wear an electronic location tracking device for 5 years.

The court stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "The crime is very serious as it involved a quasi-rape offense against an elderly victim. Considering that the defendant has a criminal record of more than 20 offenses, including three previous prison sentences for sexual violence crimes, committed the sexual violence crime while wearing an electronic device, and the very poor nature of other crimes such as injury, a severe punishment is inevitable."

A was indicted for choking the neck of the female landlord B at a house in Jung-gu, Ulsan, in August last year, hitting her multiple times with his fists, attempting to sexually assault her, and also assaulting a man in his 20s who came running after hearing B’s screams to stop the crime.

It was investigated that A committed the crime out of resentment after being evicted for being a sex offender while renting B’s house for two months on a monthly basis.
