Anibox airs Studio Ghibli masterpieces including Spirited Away

Animation specialty channel AniBox (CEO: Kwak Young-bin) will broadcast Studio Ghibli.


The masterpieces of Studio Ghibli, famous for the works of animation master Hayao Miyazaki, will be aired on AniBox starting from the 15th. We have gathered some of the Studio Ghibli works, which boast a large domestic fan base and high artistic quality, that will be broadcast on AniBox in February.


1. Princess Mononoke (Mononoke Hime)

The story depicts humans who try to destroy nature and the forest spirits, gods, and the forest princess Princess Mononoke who stand against such reckless actions. The message and deep resonance that Princess Mononoke delivers remain in the hearts of many.

2. Spirited Away (Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi)

Studio Ghibli’s representative work, Spirited Away, is set in a hot spring resort where all kinds of spirits gather. It tells the adventure of the protagonist Chihiro who tries to save her parents turned into pigs and find her own name. The character “No-Face,” famous among domestic fans, appears in this film.

3. Howl’s Moving Castle

Sophie, an 18-year-old girl who suddenly turns into a 90-year-old woman, follows Howl whom she meets by chance and enters Howl’s castle. It tells the story of Sophie working as a housekeeper and embarking on an adventure with the giant magical castle. The male protagonist “Howl,” considered an ideal type by many, and the theme song “Merry-Go-Round of Life” are famous.

In addition to the works introduced, Studio Ghibli’s masterpieces can be seen on AniBox every weekend at 8 PM starting from February.
