[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 11th at 4 p.m. that 762 people are currently undergoing testing for the novel coronavirus infection. Including the 3,535 people who have previously tested negative, a total of approximately 4,300 people have been tested so far.

After one new confirmed case of the novel coronavirus was reported earlier that morning, no additional confirmed cases have been identified in today's tests. This means that from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, no new patients were confirmed. The 28th confirmed patient identified this morning is a 30-year-old Chinese woman who is an acquaintance of patient number 3. Although a detailed epidemiological investigation is ongoing, based on the facts revealed so far, the health authorities estimate that she was likely infected by patient number 3.

Including the four patients who have recovered and been discharged after treatment, the total number of domestic patients is 28. Following the discharge of the second domestic patient on the 6th, patients number 1, 4, and 11 have been discharged consecutively. Similar to the MERS protocol, patients can be discharged after symptoms improve and they test negative twice for the virus at intervals. The health authorities anticipate that additional discharges may occur as early as the 12th.
