Direct Inspection of National Gardens and Urban Areas to Review Feasibility of Establishing a Kindergarten

Through this, Suncheon City anticipates generating 1.5926 trillion KRW in production inducement, 715.6 billion KRW in added value effects, and creating 25,149 jobs.
On the 3rd of last month, Suncheon City in Jeollanam-do signed a joint hosting and mutual cooperation memorandum of understanding with Jeollanam-do and AIPH KOREA to attract the 2023 Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo. Following this, the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), the international approval organization for the expo, will conduct an on-site inspection over two days from the 12th to the 13th.
According to Suncheon City on the 11th, the AIPH on-site inspection team, consisting of six members led by Chairman Bernard, will directly tour the planned international garden expo sites including the National Garden and downtown areas to verify whether the location and development plans of the expo site match the hosting proposal.
On the 12th, the city will hold a presentation at the International Wetland Center Conference Hall attended by Suncheon Mayor Heo Seok, Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok, the AIPH inspection team, and local autonomous and professional organizations. The presentation will cover the necessity and justification for hosting the expo, specific hosting methods, and post-event utilization plans.
Mayor Heo Seok of Suncheon said, “We will expand the garden into the city to make the entire city a vast garden,” adding, “With the goal of creating five major natural gardens including forests, villages, wetlands, coasts, and the National Garden, we hope to successfully attract the 2023 Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo and make Suncheon a global model for spreading garden culture in daily life and revitalizing the ecological economy.”
Meanwhile, Suncheon plans to hold the expo for six months from April to October 2023, expanding the area from Suncheon Bay National Garden to include Bonghwa Mountain, Yeonhyang Field, Dongcheon Stream retention basin, and Waon area, with a project budget of 48.5 billion KRW.
The hosting of the 2023 Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo will be decided through the AIPH general meeting review held in Miami, USA, in March, followed by final approval from the Ministry of Strategy and Finance in July.
