[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunwoo Lee] A robot that provides information on symptoms of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia) has appeared in Times Square, New York, USA. It is a robot that allows users to self-check for suspected infection through surveys or Q&A via a touchscreen.

According to foreign media including AP News, on the 10th (local time), a robot that provides information on novel coronavirus symptoms and allows users to check infection status was installed in Times Square, New York. This robot, called 'Promobot' after its manufacturer, is about 1.5 meters tall and has an iPad-shaped touchscreen attached to its chest. People curious about symptoms can answer short questions through the touchscreen to check for suspected infection. Additionally, they can also have conversations with the robot.

The robot asks through the screen whether the person has common symptoms of the novel coronavirus, such as fever, and people touch 'Yes' or 'No' accordingly. If 'No' is selected, it means there are no symptoms, and the user receives a reassuring message.

This robot was created by Promobot, a Russian startup company headquartered in Philadelphia. This startup develops and operates autonomous service robots for enterprises.
