Applications Accepted Until April for Kindergarten to University Students
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station (Chief Lee Wonyong) announced on the 10th that it will recruit the ‘2020 Korea 119 Youth Corps’ targeting kindergartens to universities in the district until April.
The ‘Korea 119 Youth Corps’ is a youth organization jointly operated by fire stations and schools.
It is operated with the goal of fostering healthy children and youth who lead the establishment of a safety culture and next-generation safety culture.
The recruited students and supervising teachers will participate in activities such as the induction ceremony, formation and operation of the supervising teachers’ council, safety culture exploration and safety education, operation of the 119 Fire Safety Experience Camp, and the Korea 119 Youth Corps summer camp.
They can also participate in cultural events such as the 119 Fire Safety Children’s Song Contest and the 119 Safety News Competition, where they learn about safety. In addition, outstanding supervising teachers and members will be awarded at the end of the year.
Last year, the Bukbu 119 Youth Corps had 130 members in 5 teams, participating in various fire safety culture activities such as the 119 Fire Quiz Contest and volunteer work at facilities for the disabled.
