[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The government plans to deploy a '3rd temporary flight (charter flight)' on the 11th to bring Korean residents and their Chinese families from Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The temporary living facility for them will be prepared at the Defense Language Institute of the Joint Military Academy in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters announced this additional evacuation plan for Wuhan residents during a regular briefing at the Government Complex Sejong on the 10th. Kim Kang-rip, Deputy Director of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, stated, "The 3rd temporary flight is scheduled to depart from Incheon on the 11th and arrive at Gimpo Airport on the morning of the 12th, and we are currently coordinating with the Chinese side."

The expected number of returnees on the 3rd flight is about 150. They plan to bring Korean residents staying in Wuhan and nearby areas, along with their Chinese family members, back to Korea. The Chinese family members include spouses, parents, and children of Korean nationals. After consultations with relevant ministries, the temporary living facility was selected as the Defense Language Institute in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province (an affiliated institution of the Joint Military Academy).

The government brought back 701 Wuhan residents in two rounds on the 30th and 31st of last month. They have been staying at the National Human Resources Development Institute for Government Officials in Jincheon, Chungbuk, and the Police Human Resources Development Institute in Asan, Chungnam, respectively. The evacuees on the 3rd flight will also board the plane after undergoing quarantine inspections by both the Chinese and Korean sides at Wuhan Tianhe Airport, just like the 1st and 2nd flights.
