Kim Jeong-hyun, spokesperson for the Alternative New Party, stated in a commentary on the same day, "It may not be pleasant, but I hope he does his best."

Spokesperson Kim said, "Instead of deciding his position only after receiving a final ultimatum from the party's election committee while conducting various opinion polls, it would have been better to decide earlier."

On the same day, Leader Hwang held an emergency press conference at the party headquarters and announced, "I declare my candidacy for the Jongno district," adding, "I will definitely make Jongno the number one place for judging the regime."

Leader Hwang said, "I will start the public sentiment to judge the Moon Jae-in administration in Jongno and spread it to Seoul, the metropolitan area, and nationwide," adding, "The only thing I fear is watching the Moon Jae-in administration destroy the Republic of Korea."
