Companies Owning Products and Services Utilizing Advanced Technologies Such as Big Data and AI
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 7th that companies participating for the first time this year in the world's largest electronics and product exhibition, 'CES 2020,' are currently negotiating investments or contracts totaling $14.81 million (approximately 17.5 billion KRW).
At the CES Seoul Pavilion, 20 domestic companies selected by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and designated by the Consumer Technology Association, the organizer of CES in the United States, participated. These companies possess products and services utilizing advanced technologies such as big data and AI.
Based on these achievements, the city plans to regularize participation in CES and significantly expand the number of participating companies. At 12 PM on the same day, a meeting will be held at the Seoul City Hall briefing room to share results and discuss support measures with the first cohort of companies participating in the CES Seoul Pavilion.
Park Won-soon, Mayor of Seoul, stated, "We will regularize participation in CES and greatly increase the number of participating companies so that our companies can grow into unicorns and global enterprises through broader opportunities."
