[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Lee Jae-hoon (46), a member of the group Cool, has confessed that he is a father of two children.
Lee Jae-hoon of Cool recently revealed in an interview with Ilgan Sports that he got married in 2009, had a daughter in 2010, and a son in 2013, forming a family.
According to Ilgan Sports, Lee Jae-hoon met his wife through an introduction by an acquaintance and dated for 3 to 4 years before starting a family in 2009. After the birth of their first child, they planned to hold a wedding ceremony, but due to his wife's health reasons, the wedding was not held.
Lee Jae-hoon stated, "I wanted to publicly announce that I am married and a father raising beautiful children when the opportunity arises. It was not that I tried to hide it, but there was no proper occasion or chance to suddenly confess this fact. So this time, I gathered the courage to speak."
He continued, "My wife’s health deteriorated due to preeclampsia and arrhythmia, and she went through a difficult period visiting the hospital frequently. Because of that, we could not hold a wedding ceremony. So only close acquaintances knew about it."
Lee Jae-hoon described his wife as "seven years younger, wise and smart. She understands my profession better than anyone and is very considerate. I am very thankful and grateful to her. I want to live beautifully and happily with her from now on."
He added, "We made our marriage vows at our house in Jeju Island by inviting family members. I feel sorry for not having a formal wedding ceremony. That’s why I definitely want to have a reminder wedding. I want to invite close acquaintances and family to hold a formal wedding ceremony and receive their blessings."
Lee Jae-hoon said, "I feel sorry because many people might be surprised after reading the article. The most apologetic are the fans who have consistently supported me nearby. I apologize for not telling you earlier. I want to repay you by living happily from now on."
Meanwhile, Lee Jae-hoon debuted in the music industry in 1994 as a member of the group Cool. As the main vocalist of Cool, he released many hit songs such as "Before I Get Sad," "Melancholy," and "Woman on the Beach."
