Working at 2nd Floor Bag and Accessories Store... COVID-19 Test Results Announced in 3 Days
Store Disinfection Also Conducted
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] AK Plaza Suwon Branch announced on the 3rd that it has decided to temporarily close for three days after confirming that the spouse of the 15th confirmed COVID-19 case residing in Suwon City is a contracted employee working on the 2nd floor of AK Plaza Suwon Branch at 'Find Kapoor'.
Following the Ministry of Health and Welfare's upgrade of the infectious disease crisis alert from 'Caution' to 'Warning' on the 27th of last month, AK Plaza immediately conducted a full internal investigation. During the process of checking the travel history to Greater China for all employees, store workers, their families, and cohabitants, they identified the contracted employee who is the spouse of the 15th confirmed case (then under active monitoring), and from the day of identification (January 27), the employee was given leave and placed under self-quarantine.
On the 29th of last month, the entire Suwon branch underwent a first round of disinfection. AK Plaza also noted that the 12th confirmed case had passed through Suwon Station, heightening local concerns, and thus decided on a three-day temporary closure with additional disinfection measures. The confirmation of the contracted employee's infection status is expected to be announced on the morning of the 3rd. The closure period will be adjusted based on the situation thereafter.
