North Korea "No Confirmed Cases of Novel Coronavirus Yet"

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] A North Korean official stated that the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia) has not yet occurred in North Korea.

On this day, Song In-beom, Director of the Ministry of Public Health, said in an interview with Korean Central TV, "Although the novel coronavirus infection has not occurred in our country, we should not be complacent. Everyone must have civic awareness and unite to vigorously carry out efforts to prevent the novel coronavirus infection."

However, he stated that suspected patients such as "those with fever or coughing" are being isolated and treated. This is interpreted to mean that while there are symptomatic individuals, there have been no confirmed cases testing positive.
