According to Yonhap News on the 31st, an Emart official stated, "We have closed the store from 6 p.m. today, and we plan to thoroughly disinfect the entire store. We will also conduct special COVID-19 training and fever checks for the Gunsan branch employees."

The Gunsan branch plans to remain closed until the 1st of next month, and the decision to resume operations will be made after safety is confirmed.

Meanwhile, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced in a briefing that the 8th confirmed case is a woman in her 60s residing in Gunsan.

The 8th confirmed case, Ms. A (62), entered the country on the 23rd via Incheon Airport after traveling from Wuhan, China through Qingdao. On the 27th, she showed symptoms such as coughing and difficulty breathing and was isolated at a medical center, but tested negative in the first test and was released from isolation on the 28th.

After being released from isolation, Ms. A was identified to have had lunch with her son at a restaurant in Gunsan on the 29th, and visited Emart and other places between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

As her symptoms did not improve, Ms. A was admitted to Wonkwang University Hospital, a nationally designated isolation ward, where she underwent a second test including a lung CT scan. On the 31st, Ms. A was confirmed positive.
