[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] As a chartered plane is scheduled to bring back Korean residents staying in Wuhan, China, 36 police officers who will drive police buses to transport them to quarantine facilities have been selected.


According to the police on the 30th, the National Police Agency selected 36 police officers nationwide who hold a Class 1 large vehicle driver's license. It is reported that the police drafted personnel according to the mobilization order of each provincial police agency.


They will drive 36 police buses to transport the residents from Gimpo Airport, where the chartered plane will arrive, to the Police Human Resources Development Institute in Asan City, Chungnam, and the Public Officials Human Resources Development Institute in Jincheon County, Chungbuk, which are quarantine locations. The chartered plane is scheduled to depart from Incheon Airport at 8:45 p.m. that day, head to Wuhan, China to pick up the residents, and return the next morning.


The police will provide them with 'infectious disease emergency relief sets' including masks and sterile gloves, and allow them two weeks of paid leave.
