Review Reveals Top Secret Information Included... Warning of National Security Threat if Disclosed
President Trump Also Expresses 'Explosion' of Frustration Toward Bolton
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] It has been revealed that the U.S. White House sent a letter expressing its position that it cannot allow the publication of a book written by former National Security Council (NSC) advisor John Bolton.
Bolton's book is known to contain claims that former U.S. President Donald Trump linked aid to Ukraine with investigations into corruption involving former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, drawing intense attention from U.S. political circles.
According to U.S. media outlets such as CNN and The Hill on the 29th (local time), the NSC stated in a letter sent to Bolton's attorney that "after reviewing Bolton's manuscript, it was found to contain a significant amount of classified information."
The letter, sent to Bolton's side on the 23rd, mentioned that the manuscript includes top-secret information, and if published, it could pose a serious threat to national security. Therefore, it emphasized that the manuscript must not be published or disclosed externally without removing the classified parts.
CNN reported that neither the White House nor Bolton's camp responded regarding the existence of this letter.
If the proposal to adopt Bolton as a witness passes the Senate, the impeachment trial could enter a new phase. Some rebellion votes are expected even within the Republican Party, deepening the concerns of the Republican leadership and the White House.
President Trump also tweeted on the same day, stating, "If I had listened to his advice, World War III would have happened." President Trump strongly criticized Bolton, the 'super hawk,' for his so-called 'Libya model' solution to North Korea's nuclear issue, calling it a misjudgment and expressing his dissatisfaction with Bolton.
