[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Korea-UK Cyber Policy Consultations were held on the 29th at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Seoul.
At this second consultation, our side was led by Bae Jong-in, International Security Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the UK side was led by Alexander Evans, Director of the Cyber Policy Department of the Foreign Office, with officials responsible for cyber security from related agencies attending.
Both sides discussed major issues including △cyber threat assessment △ways to enhance cyber security cooperation △discussions on international cyber norms in the international community △support for capacity building in developing countries.
In particular, both sides agreed to closely cooperate to respond to the continuously increasing cyber threats and to strengthen cooperation in cybercrime investigations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "This consultation is evaluated as an opportunity to enhance international cooperation in the cyber field between the two countries by sharing information and policies on cyber issues."
