British Airways Suspends Flights to China Amid 'Wuhan Pneumonia' Concerns

On the 29th (local time), according to the BBC and others, British Airways announced in a statement that "following the government’s recommendation to avoid travel except in essential cases, we have decided to immediately suspend all flights to and from China."

British Airways explained, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused to passengers, but our top priority is the safety of our customers and crew."

British Airways operates daily routes from London Heathrow Airport to Shanghai and Beijing, China.

Separately, the British government is preparing plans to evacuate its citizens staying in Wuhan and Hubei Province. It is reported that there are about 300 British nationals in the area.
