[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seong-yeol] Choi Chung-yeon, a pitcher for the professional baseball team Samsung Lions, has been excluded from the spring camp roster due to a drunk driving incident.

Samsung stated in a press release on the 29th, "Pitcher Choi Chung-yeon was caught in a drunk driving crackdown around 2 a.m. on the 24th while driving in downtown Daegu," adding, "He has been excluded from this spring camp roster."

They continued, "His blood alcohol concentration was 0.036%," and "Choi Chung-yeon is scheduled to be investigated soon at the local police station."

Samsung informed the KBO of Choi Chung-yeon's drunk driving incident. After the police investigation, the team plans to impose disciplinary actions both at the KBO level and internally within the club.

Samsung will depart for Okinawa, Japan on the 30th and conduct a 37-day spring camp at Akama Stadium in Onna-son. A total of 87 people, including newly appointed manager Heo Sam-young, 20 coaching staff, 49 players, and 17 support staff, are scheduled to train at the camp.

Meanwhile, Koo Ja-wook and Lee Hak-joo, whose salary negotiations are still ongoing, have also been excluded from the camp roster. They plan to join the camp once negotiations are completed.
