"Need for Grand Unity to Fight and Win Against the Moon Jae-in Administration"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Liberty Korea Party, stated on the 29th regarding former lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo's departure from the Bareunmirae Party, "If we share the same values of respecting constitutional order and market economy, it is time for all of us to unite our intentions."
After visiting Seocho District Office to inspect the preparedness against the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia), Hwang made this remark when reporters asked for his opinion on former lawmaker Ahn's withdrawal.
Hwang emphasized, "To fight and win against the Moon Jae-in administration, a grand unification of our free right-wing and free citizen groups is necessary," adding, "We must unite tightly and fight against the tyranny of this administration to win."
Regarding the report he received from lawmaker Kim Sang-hoon, who is participating in the Innovation Integration Promotion Committee, during the closed session of the Supreme Council and senior lawmakers joint meeting that morning, he introduced, "I received a report on the current situation and exchanged opinions with the Supreme Council members."
He continued, "We discussed various topics. We also talked about the establishment of a new party, and I will explain in detail when the opportunity arises."
Earlier, Hwang visited the Seoul Institute of Health and Environment in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, as well as Seocho District Office and Seocho District Public Health Center to check the response system against the novel coronavirus and encourage the staff.
At the Institute of Health and Environment, Hwang said, "The government's initial response was somewhat complacent," and added, "Currently, I understand that only the Institute of Health and Environment can conduct confirmation tests after diagnosis, but considering accessibility, it is necessary to expand testing to frontline hospitals as well."
At Seocho District Office, Hwang expressed concern, saying, "The key to responding to respiratory diseases is proactive measures," and noted, "There were gaps in the primary defense line of quarantine, and the third and fourth infected patients were isolated late, raising considerable concerns about community spread."
