Chosun University Startup Support Group Holds 'Startup Scholarship' Award Ceremony

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University (President Min Young-don) announced on the 29th that the university's Startup Support Group recently held the '2019 Startup Scholarship Award Ceremony.'

The Chosun University Startup Support Group awards startup scholarships annually to discover students with excellent business models, create an environment where they can focus on their studies and startups, and provide a foundation for growing into regional startup talents.

This startup scholarship award ceremony was conducted through document screening evaluating basic startup-related activities such as ▲startup experience ▲startup club activities ▲participation and achievements in startup competitions ▲attendance in startup lectures ▲participation in startup events, as well as self-development plans and item proposals.

At the event, a total of 44 students were selected, including students from Gwangju University and Chonnam National University: 7 first-grade startup scholars (1.5 million KRW each), 12 second-grade (1 million KRW each), and 25 third-grade (700,000 KRW each).

Among the first-grade scholars, Park Su-wan (Chosun University, Department of Chemical and Polymer Engineering, 4th year) was selected for the 'Smart Multi Flashlight,' and among the second-grade scholars, Gu Geon-woo (Chosun University, Department of Aerospace Engineering, 2nd year) was selected for the 'Easy Bra and Unfoldable Drone Protection Device.'

Among the third-grade scholars, Go Jang-wan (Chosun University, Department of Computer Engineering, 3rd year) was selected for the 'App that recommends clothes according to the season and weather.'

Lee Seung-kwon, head of the Chosun University Startup Support Group, said, "This award ceremony was a pleasant occasion to meet students passionate about startups," and added, "The Chosun University Startup Support Group plans to assist in revitalizing prepared student startups through various support projects."
