Gwangjin-gu Achieves First Grade in Public Institution Anti-Corruption Policy Evaluation

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) was selected as the Best Institution (Grade 1) in the '2019 Public Institution Anti-Corruption Policy Evaluation' conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

The anti-corruption policy evaluation is a system established to raise the integrity level of the public sector by evaluating the achievements of anti-corruption policies autonomously promoted by public institutions at all levels according to their circumstances, as well as efforts to spread these policies. It has been conducted annually since 2002.

This evaluation assessed a total of 270 public institutions from November 2018 to October of last year, evaluating seven tasks: ▲Establishment of anti-corruption promotion plans ▲Expansion of participation in integrity policies ▲Establishment of anti-corruption systems ▲Efforts to eliminate corruption risks ▲Operation of anti-corruption systems ▲Performance of anti-corruption policies ▲Efforts to spread anti-corruption policies, and classified them into five grades.

Gwangjin-gu's total score was 86.03 points, which is 3.53 points higher than the average score of all institutions, rising one grade from 2018 (Grade 2) to the highest grade.

In particular, it received high evaluations in the areas of ▲Operation of anti-corruption systems ▲Performance of anti-corruption policies, recognized for discovering and promoting various anti-corruption and integrity policies.

Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We will continue to promote integrity policies and the spread of an integrity culture to create a transparent and clean Gwangjin where integrity is fundamental, building trust with residents. We will always take the lead and do our best in implementing anti-corruption policies.”
